Nova Scotia's Black Bear season runs from the second Monday in September to the first Saturday in December. Even though the season runs for 12 weeks, Annapolis Valley Outfitters is only offering bookings for the first 3 weeks for the 2019 Fall Season. This is our first season in business and we want to give our guests the best possible chance in harvesting a trophy Nova Scotia Black Bear. The hunt is always best in the early days of the season.

Extras to consider after the harvest

Butchering: can be arranged at an additional cost, with a discount given to AVO clients from a well-respected and personal mentor in “after harvest care” and processing. Meat will be cut to ensure the maximum yield and quality from your hunt while keeping the clients requests in mind. All meat will be wrapped and tagged, ready to be placed in your shipping container. Please make sure you check and understand all your countries importing regulations on game meat. If you do not wish to take your meat, part or all of it can be gladly donated to our local food banks and we will take care of that on your behalf.

Taxidermy:  once animal is capped we will provide transfer to our local taxidermy shop, Valley Taxidermy where you can than meet the staff, plan your mount and complete the details with them. The caping and transport to the shop is included in your package but any services thereafter is at the clients expense. Valley Taxidermy is a well known and respected business in Nova Scotia, with the owner Bruce Peterson having over 40 years experience in the industry.
